He kōrero mōu | About You
Someone who is passionate about improving the experience and outcomes of people who access mental health services. You will be an innovative thinker accustomed to working in a multicultural environment with a robust understanding of the mental health standards and legislation. Critical to this role is your ability to model your own recovery and wellness success story and provide a strong consumer voice.

He kōrero mō te tūranga | The Role
This role will offer you the opportunity to use your knowledge and experience to inspire culture change to guarantee that the recovery model is pivotal to future Te Whatu Ora- Te Toka Tumai initiatives. You will consult and advocate for changes to legislation, policies, standards and funding practices to contribute to eliminating inequality, stigma and discrimination for clients accessing mental health and addiction services. This role can either be part time or full time.

What you will need to have:

  • Lived experience accessing mental health services, together with the ability to role model recovery;
  • Tertiary qualification in a health-related field;
  • Knowledge of relevant health sector standards and legislation
  • Knowledge of recovery perspectives and understanding of mental health and wellbeing;
  • Knowledge of service development and quality improvement models;
  • Astute communication and relationships building skills;
  • Ability to work and connect with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures;
  • Ability to strategically consult and advocate to ensure that Pasifika & Māori communities accessing services have equitable outcomes;
  • Commitment to Te Tiriti O Waitangi and understanding of tikanga Māori.

All applicants must have New Zealand Residency, a full driver’s license, and a clean police record.
