Kāhui Tū Kaha is a community mental health and social housing organisation under the auspices of Te Rūnanga o Ngāti Whātua. It is a well-established and innovative provider and characterised by its diversity and commitment to health and social outcomes for everyone. We have a range of services aimed at benefitting LGBTTQIA+ communities – Rainbow Tick is the team that is focussed on LGBTTQIA+ inclusion in the workplace. This involves evaluating an organisation’s level of workplace inclusion for Rainbow employees and making evidence-based recommendations for change.

He kōrero mōu | About You
You are passionate about supporting rainbow communities and will have a good understanding of rainbow communities within the Aotearoa/New Zealand context. You will have exceptional communication skills and the desire to utilise these to advance LGBTTQIA+ inclusion in the workplace. This is your opportunity to encourage and guide organisations to keep doing better for their LGBTTQIA+ staff.

He kōrero mō te tūranga | The Role
In this role you will use your knowledge of LGBTTQIA+ inclusion and group facilitation to deliver engaging and impactful education for employees within the Rainbow Tick network. You will support the ongoing development of the educational resources that Rainbow Tick shares with its network of organisations. The role will require you to develop and maintain relationships with clients and engage meaningfully with Rainbow community groups. 

This role requires someone who is a supportive team member, who is also self-motivated and able to work independently.

What you will need to have: 

  • Tertiary level qualification in a relevant field 
  • In-depth knowledge of New Zealand’s Rainbow communities 
  • An understanding of Tikanga Māori
  • Strong presentation and facilitation skills
  • Commitment to Te Tiriti O Waitangi
