He kōrero mō te tūranga | The Role
As a Service Manager, you will have the opportunity to use your leadership and mentoring experience to support your team members to do their best work, in supporting tangata. You are an innovative thinker who is solutions-focused and capable of finding the strengths in people and encouraging them to achieve their goals. You will utilise your astute communication skills to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, and engage with community networks and other agencies.

What you will need to have:

  • Tertiary level qualification in health promotion, social work, and/or mental health fields
  • 3 to 5 years of work experience in leading a team to achieve quality-based health outcomes
  • In-depth knowledge of Health & Disability Services standards
  • Ability to role model best practices and to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Knowledge of relevant agencies and services providing community support
  • Be a confident decision-maker in crisis situations
  • Ability to develop effective relationships & partnerships with relevant stakeholders
  • Commitment and ability to apply the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi
  • Ideally, you will have some proficiency in Te Reo Māori and knowledge of tikanga Māori
